Case Study: Mary’s Center

Mary’s Center, a nonprofit hospital, serving 6 locations in Washington, DC and Maryland, provides healthcare and health education services to patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Hospital leadership sought to expand brand presence, elevate messaging strategies and content, position the hospital as a thought leader, and establish a tactical plan in anticipation of its pharmacy opening and other Board and 5-year Strategic Plan initiatives.

After reviewing the existing 5-year Strategic Communications Plan, conducting multiple client and stakeholder interviews and regional market research, we advised Mary’s Center, identifying brand inconsistencies, gaps in messaging, and opportunities to elevate brand designs and language to establish greater community trust and a reputation for thought leadership.

We created 4 branded campaigns with hashtags and key messages to establish initiatives as distinct branded efforts. We created a brand identity for Mary’s Center as a center of excellence and forward-thinking thought leader. We integrated efforts of the Development and Communications teams to increase efficiencies and improve messaging. Our client was named Washington’s Most Innovative PR and Marketing Team by Corporate America News Magazine, crediting our guidance.

Assessing Communications effectiveness to build understanding

Case Study: KenCrest

KenCrest, a 12,500+ member non-profit organization, serving adults, youth, and children with intellectual and physical disabilities, sought to assess its current brand positioning, design, messaging, and materials. Tasked with educating numerous communities, driving donations, and building brand presence across 12 counties in PA, DE, and CT, KenCrest needed to strengthen understanding of its impact and broaden its reach with updated and expanded efforts.

Expanding Opportunities for Community Impact

We conducted a comprehensive research phase, analyzing communications efforts and challenges, engaging in a series of stakeholder interviews, and reviewing articles and industry publications related to KenCrest’s services.  We analyzed constraints of technology, staff, and resources to identify recommendations for expanding impact. Subsequently, we created a comprehensive Communications Audit and reports to guide changes to visual identity and brand messaging.
